About This Tool

What data is real vs estimated?

SEO score and performance score come live from Google's Lighthouse engine via the PageSpeed Insights API — these are real measurements of the site right now. Crawl history (site age, months active) is real data from the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine. Monthly traffic is an estimate derived from these signals, since real traffic data requires paid tools like SimilarWeb or Ahrefs.

Why is traffic estimated and not exact?

Real website traffic data is proprietary — analytics tools like Google Analytics are private, and third-party estimators like SimilarWeb use proprietary panels. No free public API gives exact traffic for arbitrary websites. Our estimate uses technical quality signals as a proxy, which correlates with but doesn't equal actual traffic.

What does the SEO score mean?

Google Lighthouse's SEO score measures technical on-page SEO: meta tags, crawlability, canonical tags, structured data, mobile-friendliness, and similar signals. A score of 90+ means the site is technically well-optimised. It does NOT measure backlinks, domain authority, or content quality — those require separate tools.

What is the Wayback Machine?

The Internet Archive's Wayback Machine crawls the web and stores historical snapshots. Sites that are important, frequently updated, or have many inbound links get crawled more often. The number of months with snapshots is a proxy for site longevity and web presence.
